Half Marathon: 3 Hours
Marathon: 8 Hour time limit (18:00 minute per mile pace)
40 Mile Run: 12 hour time limit (18:00 minute per mile pace)
Course Information
The course is almost all trail... it is run on Greensboro's Watershed trail system. Running this race is a true adventure that
requires more concentration than road running. The terrain is
rocky and rooty and can be treacherous. Fallen leaves conceal rocks,
roots, sticks, and holes. The course will be well marked with
white blazes and signs.
Charities
We are proud to have donated over $30,000 to several local charities
and our park system since 2003. You can visit our donation web page
for details.

Special Needs Bags
40 Mile Runners will have the option to pack a special needs bag and
we will make it available at Mile 19 AND 31.5. You MUST drop off your
special needs bag at early packet pickup on Friday. Mark your
name clearly on your bag. Also mark clearly if the bag is for
mile 19 or 31.5. You can pack any special food you will need
or a change of clothes or a headlight. You can mail us your Special
Needs Bag if you will not be at early packet pickup.
Please note, we will bring these bags back to the race finish.
However, we will not transport any bags until the last finishers has
passed the Special Needs Bag point on the course. So the bags
at mile 31.5 will not be transported back to the finish until many
of you have already finished the race (and gone home).
Relays
Relay handoff points will be at the following mile mark/trail
heads. They are indicated on the map with a "R". A relay
participant may run more than 1 leg of the race.
Race Crew/Support
Support Crews will have access to the 40 mile participants at
several points in the course. Please do not park in any
of the other trail heads as access is very limited and will be
needed for relay teams and water stop helpers.
